How do I unlock the full app?

Tap Unlock Full Access inside the app. You'll be taken to a standard in-app purchase through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). One-time payment — no subscription, no recurring charges.

I already paid. How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open the app, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchase. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID or Google account — as long as you're signed into the same account, it restores for free on any device.

Does the app work without internet?

Yes. Fully offline. Once downloaded, the app operates in complete airplane mode. No network connection is ever required to use any feature.

Where is my data stored?

On your device only. The app stores gear loadouts, resupply dates, and settings in local device storage. Nothing is transmitted, synced, or backed up to any server. If you delete the app, that local data is gone — there is no cloud backup by design.

How do I update the app?

Updates come through the App Store or Google Play the same as any other app. Enable automatic updates or check manually. All content updates are included at no charge.

The app is crashing or not loading correctly.

Force-close the app completely and reopen it. If the problem persists, delete and reinstall — your purchase will restore through the store at no charge. If you're still having issues, email us with your device model and iOS/Android version.

When is the Android / Google Play version available?

It's in development. Subscribe to the newsletter at tier1offgrid.substack.com and we'll notify you the day it drops.

I need a refund.

Refunds on in-app purchases are handled by Apple and Google directly — not by us. For iOS: go to reportaproblem.apple.com. For Android: visit the Google Play Help Center. If you're having a technical issue we can fix, email us first.

How do I subscribe to the newsletter?

Go to tier1offgrid.substack.com or use the signup form on the homepage. Free tier is available. Paid tier ($10–15/month) unlocks full deep-dive content and paid articles.

How do I access paid articles?

Paid content is delivered through Substack. Subscribe at the paid tier and you'll receive full access via your Substack account. Articles marked SUBSCRIBERS ONLY on this site link directly to Substack.

Are the gear links on this site affiliate links?

How do I cancel my newsletter subscription?

Log into your Substack account and manage your subscription from there. You can cancel or downgrade any time — Substack handles all billing. We have no access to your payment info.
